Estos primeros pobladores contaban con una tecnolog\u00eda muy primitiva y se dedicaban principalmente a la caza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">M\u00e1s tarde, llegaron a Jalisco tribus Nahoas, quienes se mezclaron con los Otom\u00edes y otras etnias locales y muy probablemente dieron origen a los Tepehuanes y Zapotecas, que tambi\u00e9n poblaron la zona en la que hoy se ubica Tamazula.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">La compleja mezcla que dio origen a la raza que encontraron Don Alfonso de \u00c1valos y los primeros espa\u00f1oles que llegaron al Sur de Jalisco, estuvo integrada tambi\u00e9n por Tarascos, Toltecas, Chichimecas, Tecos e incluso Aztecas quienes llegaron al estado alrededor del Siglo XII.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 7.5pt 0cm; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #993300; letter-spacing: -.3pt; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">La Conquista<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">Luego de la ca\u00edda de Tenochtitlan, diversos grupos del interior del pa\u00eds fueron someti\u00e9ndose al poder\u00edo espa\u00f1ol. Sin embargo, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos no hubo enfrentamiento b\u00e9lico, sino pactos o alianzas que cada poblaci\u00f3n hac\u00eda con el fin de derrocar a los caciques o se\u00f1ores que los oprim\u00edan y a los que rend\u00edan tributo. Este fue el caso de los pobladores de Tamazula, quienes gobernados por Calizendo (o Calizentli), se aliaron con los caciques de Tuxpan y Zapotl\u00e1n para unirse al contingente espa\u00f1ol y vencer al Rey Tzome de Colima.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">A partir de ese convenio, llevado a cabo en 1521, la zona recibi\u00f3 el nombre de Provincias de \u00c1valos, en honor de Alfonso de \u00c1valos que ven\u00eda al frente del contingente espa\u00f1ol con el que se hizo la alianza.<br \/> En agosto de 1524, Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s envi\u00f3 al Capit\u00e1n Francisco Cort\u00e9s de San Buenaventura, su sobrino, para que se desempe\u00f1ara como Alcalde Mayor de la Villa de Colima.El capit\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s, acompa\u00f1ado de los franciscanos Fray Juan de Padilla, Fray Mart\u00edn de Jes\u00fas y el Bachiller Villadiego, lleg\u00f3 a Tamazula en octubre del mismo a\u00f1o e inmediatamente orden\u00f3 se hiciera un recuento de los indios y se iniciaran las labores de evangelizaci\u00f3n. El censo realizado por los espa\u00f1oles arroj\u00f3 la cifra de 12 mil indios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 7.5pt 0cm; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #993300; letter-spacing: -.3pt; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">\u00c9poca Colonial<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">En 1532, Fray Juan de Padilla fundo el Convento de la Asunci\u00f3n en Zapotl\u00e1n y a partir de ese momento se dio inicio formal a la evangelizaci\u00f3n en la zona Sur de Jalisco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">En Tamazula, uno de los primeros signos de la evangelizaci\u00f3n fue el matrimonio, en 1535, del cacique Calizendo con una india llamada Matiana de Jes\u00fas. La uni\u00f3n se hab\u00eda postergado debido a que era necesario que el gobernante eligiera s\u00f3lo a una de sus varias mujeres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">En 1561 lleg\u00f3 a esta poblaci\u00f3n Fray Juan de Santa Mar\u00eda, quien fund\u00f3 el primer convento y el hospital dedicado a Ntra. Se\u00f1ora de la Limpia Concepci\u00f3n, donde se atend\u00eda a indios enfermos y se daba hospedaje a los viajeros.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">Cuatro a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, en 1566, llegaron a Tamazula los primeros espa\u00f1oles con intenciones de asentarse en el lugar y en 1570 lleg\u00f3 una segunda oleada de migrantes, atra\u00eddos estos \u00faltimos por los recientes hallazgos de minas de plata.<br \/> Antes de la llegada de los espa\u00f1oles no exist\u00eda un pueblo como tal, sino que hab\u00eda grupos de chozas esparcidos a lo largo del r\u00edo o bien, en los cerros. Los franciscanos se dieron a la tarea de formar barrios. Esta nueva organizaci\u00f3n urbana, trajo consigo tambi\u00e9n una nueva forma de gobierno, de modo que el antiguo cacique fue sustituido por los encomenderos, espa\u00f1oles que contaban con el favor del Rey y que ten\u00edan a su cargo tanto territorios como indios. Esta forma de gobierno se mantuvo vigente en Tamazula hasta 1568. A la par de los encomenderos, se procur\u00f3 que los pobladores originales de estas tierras continuaran teniendo gobiernos propios, para lo cual se nombraron alguaciles ind\u00edgenas, cuyas principales responsabilidades eran velar por el amparo y buen comportamiento de los indios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 7.5pt 0cm; line-height: 18pt; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">Tamazula cuenta con Ayuntamiento Constitucional desde el a\u00f1o de 1820, un a\u00f1o anterior a la consumaci\u00f3n de la independencia nacional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">A\u00f1os posteriores, dentro del proceso de reorganizacion politico-administrativo, el 8 de abril de 1844, el Congreso de Jalisco, mediante Decreto no. 5 orden\u00f3 la instalaci\u00f3n formal del Ayuntamiento de Tamazula, el cual deb\u00eda, en ese entonces, quedar integrado por dos Alcaldes, cuatro Regidores y un Sindico; siendo el Cabildo el m\u00e1ximo \u00f3rgano del Gobierno Civil, elegido mediante el sufragio[voto] popular.<br \/> Su nombre deriva del vocablo n\u00e1huatl \u201cTlamazolan\u201d cuyo significado es \u201clugar de sapos\u201d; y es a partir de 1856 que el municipio lleva por nombre oficial Tamazula de Gordiano, en honor a la memoria del insurgente Gordiano Guzm\u00e1n, originario de la agencia municipal de San Francisco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 9.75pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 18pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #444444; mso-fareast-language: ES-MX;\">Hoy en d\u00eda Tamazula cuenta con una superficie territorial de 1,324.48 Km2, divididos politicamente en 6 delegaciones, cuenta con 35,987 Habitantes [Censo 2005], es un importante centro de la industria azucarera;
